JAMAICAN DOG BLOOD NEED TO KNOW
-
Jamaican Dog Blood Bush (Rivina humilis) is a very strong uterine herb that’s traditionally used in Caribbean bush medicine for fibroids, cysts, fertility, and menstrual support. But because it’s potent, it’s not something that should be taken in unlimited amounts or every single day long-term.
Note: Because the Fibroid Fighter contains Jamaican Dog Blood Bush we recommend cycling the blend with your menstrual cycle. For example:
- Take the tea daily after your period ends until ovulation,
- Pause around your period if bleeding is heavy,
- Resume afterward.
Cautions:
- Not safe in pregnancy can stimulate uterine contractions.
- Should not be used while breastfeeding.
- Do not take while on your period.
- Overuse can cause uterine irritation or excessive bleeding in some women.
- Because it’s very “cleansing,” long-term daily use may deplete the womb instead of supporting it.

Why Pair Them?
Your tea works to shrink fibroids, balance hormones, and tone the womb but diet plays a huge role in how fast and effectively the body responds. Together, they form a synergistic healing plan.
Fibroid-Support Diet Guidelines
Focus On:
- Cruciferous Vegetables (broccoli, cabbage, kale, Brussels sprouts, bok choy) = help the body metabolize excess estrogen.
- High-Fiber Foods (flax seeds, oats, lentils, hemp seeds, beans, chia seeds) = support estrogen elimination through digestion.
- Anti-Inflammatory Spices & Herbs (turmeric, ginger, garlic, cinnamon) = reduce fibroid inflammation and pain.
- Iron-Rich Foods (beets, leafy greens, pumpkin seeds) = rebuild blood lost from heavy bleeding.
- Liver-Support Foods (dandelion greens, artichokes, milk thistle tea, lemon water) = detox estrogen naturally.
- Healthy Fats (avocado, olive oil, flax oil, walnuts) = regulate hormones.
- Tempeh (fermented, less estrogenic than regular soy)
Fibroid-Friendly Meats & Proteins
Best Choices (lean, clean, hormone-free):
- Wild-caught fish (salmon, sardines, mackerel, cod) = rich in omega-3s, reduces inflammation
- Organic, pasture-raised chicken or turkey = lean protein without added hormones/antibiotics
- Grass-fed lamb (in moderation) = less estrogenic than conventional red meat
- Pasture raised eggs = excellent protein & hormone-regulating nutrients
Eat in Moderation (occasionally, small portions):
- Grass-fed beef or bison = if organic/clean, better than conventional, but limit to once a week
- Shellfish = can be inflammatory if overdone, choose wild-caught
Avoid Altogether or Limit:
- Processed foods (fried foods, packaged snacks) = worsen inflammation.
- Alcohol & caffeine = burden the liver and upset hormone balance.
- Soy (processed forms) = can mimic estrogen and fuel fibroid growth.
- Conventional red meat (beef, pork, processed meats like bacon, sausage, deli meats) = usually loaded with growth hormones, estrogen, and chemicals that fuel fibroid growth
- Factory-farmed chicken/turkey = pumped with hormones & antibiotics, disrupt hormones
- Dairy-heavy meats (veal, fatty cuts) = high in estrogen-like compounds
- Processed sugars switch to raw honey or other natural sweeteners.
Rule of Thumb:
- Choose organic, pasture-raised, wild-caught, or grass-fed whenever possible.
- Focus more on plant proteins + fish + light poultry, and use red meat rarely.
- Always pair meat with cruciferous vegetables (like broccoli, kale, cabbage) to help the body clear estrogen.
